My Website

1. What I learned about web designing is that you have to have content that will attract the audience you are looking for. You must have pop up colors, good spacing, alignment, patterns, unity and your fonts need to math. Having all these things in your website will help you have a successful website.

2.The website I chose to utilize to create my own was Square Space. The topic I was trying to go for was fashion and tips. I wanted to be able to reach a New York blogger vision. I wanted it to   learn professional but not over the top crazy as in the design. I made it plain and simple and I'm   proud of it.

Blog Post #17

1
1. In this class I have learned many things. I have learned to create and transform images using apps I've never even heard of before. One of those apps were Photoshop and Illustrator both by Adobe. I have also learned to type at a much faster pace than I did before. My accuracy is also before than it was just a few months ago. I am able to type my essay much quicker now that I know the techniques. I never thought I'd actually learn to be creative through computer programs. I know how to merge pictures and make them appear original.

2. In the future I will continue to use this experience. I am  going to college so I kn ow I will have more and more projects as the years go by. Technology is also improving day by day. Being able to create an art piece on the computer is amazing. I will continue to expand my creativity through digital imaging.

Memory Project

In my project, I chose 2 pictures of myself from when I was less than a year old and now. I also included a picture of a painting located at Bell High School. I chose these pictures because I thought it was a good memory.

I ended up pretty satisfied with the final product. I liked how the pictures looked. I think it all came together. I used Adobe Photoshop for my project. It helped me be able to include all 3 pictures into one. I also rasterized and it looked much better. I liked my image because only I understand the true message.

Social Message Poster Presentation

The focus of my topic is to motivate the world to try and maintain their place of living clean, mostly about recycling. I think freeways and cities are super dirty not only in California but all over the world. I don' think we are trying hard enough to maintain a healthy environment.

The designer that inspired me is Siang Chang. What I like about her artwork is that it's very colorful. She uses colors that are similar to each other and adds a pattern as well. I also like how you can distinguish her art just by looking at it since they're all so alike. Although I did not make it as colorful as I wanted, her work greatly inspired mine.

To create my poster I used both Adobe Illustrator and InDesign. I decided to draw a tree with arrows around it that show recycling. I also added a yellow sun. I decided to leave a white background because thats how the world is supposed to look, clean. I chose a dark green, a light green and a nice shade of brown for the trunk of the tree. I also added a world picture in the word "eco".
The font I used was pretty basic. I wanted a font that would look clean and also look good. I didn't choose a cursive as I had drawn on my sketch because I preferred the plain text.

My Pop Art

The public figure that I chose is Barbie. I think she continues to have effect in today's childhood. I remember when I was younger and she took a big part in my life. I wanted to have every barbie toy, book, movie, etc. I wasn't obsessed but I really loved her.

My process using Adobe Photoshop was I had to crop it and made it black and white. After this, I colored and distinguished the lips, face, hair, eyebrows, etc. Then, I flatten the image. When I was done doing this I hued and saturated all four images.

My Favorite Graphic Designer

What have you learned about the history of Graphic Design and specifically Poster Design?
I have noticed that a poster design is to mainly captivate the attention of an audience with a picture as well as with a great message. This way the person viewing the picture will be caught on fast! I also noticed that through these mediums, artists have found a way of putting their emotions out there through art. Both, have similar objectives and those include, introducing an idea with the use of images, pictures and symbols. In other words, this is basically visual communication; through art!

Who is your favorite Graphic Designer? Where did they study and learn about Graphic Design?
I chose Siang Chang as my favorite designer. I chose her because I really like how her artwork produces her feelings. Her art includes patterns and colors that are alike. However, they are toned. I also thing her art is super girly, and that's what I liked most! She studied Graphic Design in Signapore, China. She graduated from a school called Nanyang Academy. There she obtained her bachelor's degree in Visual Communication.

What is their style of design?
The style of Siang's designs are mostly patterns. You can feel her joy through her work. In the designs I've seen, she uses a lot of colors that are mostly around the same base. For example, if she picks red she uses pink, light red, violet, white and so forth. So, she basically goes by a scale. That is my favorite part. I also like that her art is able to be viewed through many angles and that's what gives the illusions. Her art is just one structure. Moreover, her art is handmade.

1. How did you feel about using Adobe Photoshop? Was it easy, challenging &/or frustrating? Be sure to include the names and tools you used?🔨
I thought using Adobe Photoshop was extremely interesting. It made me feel like a professional photoshop technician. First, I created a layer of my face and started cropping. I used the rope tool to crop my image to be able to just leave myself with a white background. Then, I used the rope tool again to crop the background. Then I continued to feather my selected area. After this, step I filled my image with a red/burgundy color. Then, proceeded to add a box and a new layer, scaled it and filled it. Then, I added another new layer and text and added a cool word, "Rutilant" which by definition means glowing or glittering with red or golden light. I thought this word and definition went great with the color shade I chose. Overall, I thought this was a great application and would love to try this again.

2. What was your favorite and most interesting tool or procedure you used with Adobe Photoshop? How can you use Photoshop in the future and with what future projects?

My favorite part of this process was the rope tool. I enjoy this part the most because it was so easy to cut the unwanted parts out. If I ever want to crop an image to perfection I will take Photoshop into consideration. It will also help me to familiarize more with the application. For example, if I want to post an Instagram picture and I want to look like Kim Kardashian, I'll use this.
